Privacy Policy – Mathster
Mathster ("the app"), a mental math game, is published by appdroidapps, an individual developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app handles and your rights. The short version: your scores stay on your phone; the app shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects device identifiers and ad interaction data as described below.
1. Data stored on your device
Your scores, streaks, statistics, practice history and settings are stored only on your device. There is no account and no login. Scores carried over from the previous version of Mathster are read from the old app data on your device and stay there; they are never sent to us.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app shows ads served by Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares data automatically for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention: your device's advertising ID and app set ID, your IP address (which may be used to estimate general location), ad interaction data such as app launches, taps and video views, and diagnostic information about the SDK. This data is encrypted in transit. Google's use of it is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of personalised ads in your Android settings, and manage ad personalisation at Google Ad Settings.
If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent through Google's User Messaging Platform before showing ads. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options. Without consent, only limited, non-personalised ads are shown.
Ads are not personalised for users who identify as under 18, where the SDK supports that setting. Buying Remove Ads or Pro stops banner and interstitial ads; a rewarded video is shown only when you choose to watch one.
3. Purchases
Remove Ads (one-time) and Pro (monthly or yearly subscription) are sold through Google Play Billing. Google processes payment and holds your payment details; we never see them. We use RevenueCat to check whether a purchase is active; it receives an anonymous random identifier created on first launch, the purchase token and basic device information. Manage or cancel subscriptions in the Google Play app under Payments & subscriptions.
4. Analytics and crash reports (planned)
We plan to use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand which modes are played and to fix crashes. They collect anonymous usage events, device model, OS version, app version, country and crash traces. They never collect your name or contact details. If this changes, we will update this policy first.
5. What we do not do
- No selling of personal data.
- No access to contacts, photos, files, microphone or precise location.
- No collection of your scores or statistics by us.
6. Permissions
Internet and network state (ads and purchases), vibration (feedback), notifications (only if you turn on reminders), and the advertising ID permission required by AdMob.
7. Data deletion
Uninstalling the app deletes all game data from your device. Your advertising ID is controlled by you in Android settings. To delete the anonymous purchase identifier from RevenueCat, email us the identifier shown under Settings → About; we will complete the request within 30 days.
8. Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR)
If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority. For data held by Google (advertising), use the Google controls linked above. For the limited data held by RevenueCat or Firebase, email us and we will respond within 30 days. Our legal bases are your consent (personalised advertising), our legitimate interest in funding a free app with non-personalised ads and in fixing crashes, and the contract when you buy Remove Ads or Pro.
9. Your rights (CCPA/CPRA, California)
Sharing device identifiers with an advertising network may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CCPA. You can opt out through your Android ad settings and the in-app Privacy options. We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know, delete and correct, and not to be discriminated against. Email us; we respond within 45 days.
10. Children
Mathster is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country), and its store listing targets ages 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will help delete any data.
11. International transfers
Google, RevenueCat and Firebase may process data in the United States and other countries under standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
12. Changes
Changes are posted here with a new effective date and noted in the app's release notes.
