Terms of Use – Tickspend

Effective date: 17 October 2026

1. Agreement

By installing or using Tickspend, a receipt scanner and expense tracker, you agree to these terms with appdroidapps, an individual developer. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on Android devices you own or control, under the Google Play terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, and you may not use automated tools to send images to our scanning service.

3. The scanning service

When you scan a receipt, the image is sent to our server and to a third-party AI model (Anthropic's Claude API) to extract text. Extraction is automated and may be wrong. You must check every amount before relying on it for tax, reimbursement or splitting a bill. We do not store your images or results on our server; see the privacy policy.

4. Your data

Your expenses, reports and any receipt images you keep are stored only on your device. You own them and are responsible for backups. If the device is lost, reset or the app is uninstalled without a backup, the data cannot be recovered by us.

5. Free scans and Pro

The free tier includes ten scans with no time limit, plus unlimited manual expenses, reports, exports and bill splits. Pro gives unlimited scans, subject to a fair-use limit of 200 scans per day, as a monthly or yearly subscription with a free trial where offered. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency. Free scans are counted by an anonymous identifier on your device; reinstalling the app or clearing its data may reset that identifier and does not entitle you to additional free scans if we detect abuse.

6. Billing

Purchases are made through Google Play and are subject to Google's terms and refund policy. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in the Google Play app under Payments & subscriptions. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.

7. Bill splitting

The bill split feature produces a suggested division of a receipt. It is not a payment service, does not move money and does not create any debt or obligation between people. Shares are rounded to the smallest currency unit; any remainder is assigned to the payer.

8. No professional advice

The app is not tax, accounting or legal advice. Check categories, totals and tax figures with your accountant or tax authority.

9. Acceptable use

Do not upload images that are not receipts or invoices, that contain other people's personal data without their consent, or that are unlawful. Do not attempt to overload or circumvent the scanning service or its limits. We may suspend service to an identifier that breaches these rules.

10. Service availability

The scanning service depends on third-party providers and may be unavailable at times. We may change models, limits or providers to keep the service working. Everything other than scanning works offline.

11. Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, for extraction errors, or for loss of data or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

12. Changes and termination

We may update the app and these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept it. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the developer resides, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
